26 people arrested in Arizona for counterfeit drugs

Authorities in Arizona arrested 26 people, while 23 businesses were raided, in a counterfeit prescription drug operation last Wednesday.

The case, which has been under investigation for two years, involved drugs being smuggled into Arizona from Latin America.

Based on a news conference which was held at Phoenix police headquarters, TV station 3TV reported that the operation tracked millions of dollars’ worth of illegal prescription drugs.

The businesses which were raided are called Yerberias, which are shops selling folk medicine.

These businesses are not illegal, but it was reported that investigators said that many of these places have hidden cabinets and do sell dangerous foreign drugs if requested by customers.
