Powell Gilbert adds medical doctor to practice
UK IP law firm Powell Gilbert LLP has appointed solicitor and medical doctor Tess Waldron as an associate.
Waldron, who is the ninth PhD-qualified lawyer at Powell Gilbert, joins the firm from Latham & Watkins. She has experience advising clients on a range of IP rights, including patents, trademarks and copyright.
During her legal career she has represented life sciences in IP matters and provided regulatory advice to pharmaceutical companies. She has also acted for consumer electronics companies in commercial disputes and negotiations, and has litigated general commercial and IP claims before the UK High Court and Court of Appeal.
Before becoming a solicitor, Waldron (pictured left) worked in hospital medicine for three years.
Penny Gilbert, a partner at Powell Gilbert, said of Waldron’s appointment: “We are thrilled to welcome Tess to Powell Gilbert.
“Intellectual rigour and technical prowess are invaluable competencies for an IP lawyer: Tess is talented in both these respects. We look forward to her contribution as we tackle our clients’ complex and cutting edge IP needs.”
