Baker & McKenzie adds to IP team

Baker & McKenzie LLP has added to its IP team with the appointment of Hiroshi Sheraton as partner in its London office.

Sheraton (pictured) is an experienced patent lawyer, having led and co-ordinated UK High Court cases and pan-European patent litigation.

He specialises in the life sciences industry and has advised clients in the fields of microarray technology, enzymatic research tools, antibody production and medical devices.

Sheraton joins from McDermott Will & Emery LLP where he was a partner and co-head of its IP practice.

Michael Hart, head of the IP practice at Baker & McKenzie’s London office, said Sheraton was an “ideal addition” to the team.

“His appointment adds considerably to our existing patent strength and demonstrates our strong commitment to growing our UK, European and global patent practice in support of our client's needs," Hart said.

Sheraton is the third new arrival to the law firm this month following the appointments of patent litigation partner Jochen Harr in Munich, Germany and Julian Thurston as a consultant in the global pharmaceutical and healthcare industry group in London.

Baker & McKenzie's IP practice group has more than 400 IP practitioners worldwide in nearly 40 countries.
