Egalet and Purdue reach patent settlement

Egalet Corporation announced that it has reached an agreement with Purdue Pharma regarding the alleged patent infringements by Egalet and product licensor Acura Pharmaceuticals through Oxaydo (oxycodone) tablets.

Purdue filed patent infringement lawsuits against Egalet in April 2015 and April 2016, alleging that the product infringes Purdue’s US patent numbers 8,389,007 and 9,308,171.

The parties have agreed not to pursue any further action and Purdue has agreed to dismiss the case.

Oxaydo is an immediate-release oral formulation of oxycodone HCl used as a treatment for moderate to severe chronic pain. It was launched by Egalet, which acquired it from Acura.
