McGuire Woods adds three partners to life sciences team

US law firm McGuire Woods is expanding its life sciences patent litigation team with the addition of three partners in its New York office.

Benjamin Hsing, Wanda French-Brown and Irene Hudson represent pharmaceutical companies in patent matters involving Abbreviated New Drug Applications (ANDA). They also have experience in advising technology, biotechnology and medical device companies.

All three partners join McGuire Woods from BakerHostetler.

Holly Bucky, the co-leader of the firm’s healthcare and life sciences industry team, said the new partners will be an important asset for McGuire Woods’ healthcare and life sciences clients.

Hsing has represented pharmaceutical and technology companies in several high-profile cases and has also conducted IP investigations for acquisitions and licensing deals.

With a background as a registered pharmacist, French-Brown has represented life sciences companies in patent litigations involving pharmaceuticals, healthcare, medical devices, food chemistry and biotechnology.

Hudson has represented clients in multi-patent and multi-defendant cases domestically and internationally and manages worldwide trademark portfolios. She also has significant experience in coordinating multi-jurisdictional litigation.

The chair of the firm’s IP and patent litigation department, David Finkelson, said: “Ben, Wanda and Irene are highly respected for devising strategies to help domestic and international companies navigate complex patent litigation challenges.”
