Teva launches generic Campral in the US

Pharmaceutical company Teva has launched a generic version of Merck’s Campral (acamprosate calcium) drug in the US.

Teva released a statement yesterday, March 22, where it outlined the details of the drug—an extended release tablet.

Campral is used for the maintenance of abstinence from alcohol in patients who have alcohol dependency.

According to IMS Health, Campral had annual sales of around $14 million in the US last year.
