Miller Canfield adds to Shanghai team

Law firm Miller, Canfield, Paddock & Stone has expanded its IP team in China with the appointment of life sciences specialist Kening Li.

Li, who joins from Pinsent Masons, will work in the firm’s Shanghai office and will be the head of the firm’s IP group in China.

He has experience in worldwide patent prosecution in the biotechnology, pharmaceutical and chemical fields, and in litigation in both China and the US.

“We are pleased to welcome Li to Miller Canfield,” said Michael McGee, the firm’s chief executive.

“Kening is a well-respected lawyer in the IP area. His experience … will benefit our existing and prospective clients doing business in China.”

Li will be joined by two additional IP professionals: Yali Li, who will join as counsel, and specialist Hanqin Lin.
