BIO 2016 reception roundup: Peace and love at City Hall

This year’s BIO International Convention took a turn for the groovy on Wednesday night, with a 'Summer of Love' party at San Francisco City Hall.

Guests were taken on a trip into the past, with tribute bands to The Beatles and The Beach Boys providing the soundtrack to an evening of food and drink from around the world.

Outside, a stage set up to look like a mini-Woodstock played host to Santana, Hendrix and other 60s heroes, or at least, to people who looked and played very like them.

Inside, guests were seranaded by a jazz pianist (and, at one stage, a man bouncing balls on electric drums) while exploring the dome of this Beaux Arts behemoth.
