Carpmaels & Ransford name two new partners
Carpmaels & Ransford has appointed two life sciences attorneys as partners, effective yesterday, July 1.
Chris Hoggett focuses his practice on pharmaceuticals and cases relating to new chemical formulations. Hogget has successfully defended patents for a number of blockbuster drugs including as lead counsel in proceedings at the European Patent Office (EPO) on behalf of Gilead and Novartis.
Stephen Duffield specialises his practice on biological therapies, having represented companies such as Janssen Biotech and Regeneron. He has worked on both offensive and defensive patent litigation at the EPO, including oppositions and appeals.
Richard Jackson, managing partner at Carpmaels & Ransford, said that the appointments would “further strengthen our life sciences capability and demonstrate our commitment to supporting and promoting talent in the firm”.
Both Hoggett and Duffield joined the firm as trainees.
