HLK adds medical devices expert to Bristol office

Haseltine Lake Kempner has added Jo Deas as a partner to its chemistry and life sciences team, effective January 20.

Deas will be based in the firm’s Bristol office, having spent the last 12 years at the Nottingham offices of HGF and Potter Clarkson.

She focuses her practice on patents in the life sciences, in particular chemistry and medical devices.

“I am excited to join a firm with such an excellent reputation and to be able to assist in strengthening the opposition and appeals offering of the firm,” said Deas.

Alex Rogers, senior partner in the chemistry and life sciences team said: “We are delighted Jo is joining our team. The demand for our skills in European oppositions and appeals is ever-growing and Jo’s expertise will add to our strength in this area.”

Deas has frequently represented clients at both the UK Intellectual Property Office and the European Patent Office.
