MoFo hires FDA-focused partner

Morrison & Foerster (MoFo) has strengthened its life sciences group with the addition of Bethany Hills as a partner in New York.

Hills has a full-service Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulatory and compliance practice, with experience in the products and processes regulated by the FDA, including cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, medical devices, biotechnology, and diagnostics.

Her practice focuses on the complete product life cycle, from pre-market product development and market authorisation processes to post-market compliance issues.

Previously, Hills served as chair of the FDA practice at Mintz.

Michael Ward, global head of the firm’s life sciences practice group and head of the firm’s patent practice group, said: “Unlike many FDA lawyers that focus on specific parts of a product life cycle, Bethany brings substantive experience across the entire range of FDA-related client needs. Her breadth of knowledge makes her a tremendous resource to both our life sciences and retail clients across the firm.”

Hills also strengthens MoFo’s global privacy and data security group. She has represented clients on connected health, clinical trial compliance matters, and the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), which provides data privacy and security provisions for safeguarding medical information.

“I was attracted to MoFo by its extensive global platform and the calibre of work being performed by its top-tier life sciences group. I look forward to collaborating with my new colleagues to meet the critical needs of our clients across many practice areas,” said Hills.
