Carpmaels & Ransford expands life sciences team

UK-based law firm Carpmaels & Ransford LLP has continued to expand its IP group with the appointment of a life sciences litigator to its London office.

Camilla Balleny arrives from Pinsent Masons LLP, where she was partner. She specialises in life sciences and has litigated for a number of pharmaceutical companies, including Novartis and Johnson & Johnson.

She re-joins former colleague Ian Kirby, who she worked with at Arnold & Porter LLP before joining Pinsent Masons and who  joined the firm last month.

Lucy Sewter also follows Balleny from Pinsent Masons, as a life sciences legal executive.

Balleny said: “Carpmaels is a firm with a first-class reputation that I have known and worked with for many years. I am excited to be part of this joined up offering and to be working again with former colleagues.”

Hugh Goodfellow, head of the life sciences group, added: “Camilla’s reputation in the life sciences sector is impressive, and we’re thrilled that she has joined the firm.”
