Duane Morris names IP lawyer as pharma litigation chair

Duane Morris has appointed Patrick Gallagher as chair of the firm’s pharmaceuticals and biopharmaceuticals litigation and regulatory practice group.

Based in the firm’s Boca Raton office in Florida, Gallagher has advised a number of clients in fields such as pharmaceuticals, agriculture, chemistry, and biotechnology on a range of IP and regulatory matters.

For example, Gallagher has assisted clients with IP strategy, patent and trade secret litigation, dispute resolution, and compliance with the US Food and Drug Administration’s regulations.

Gallagher also has expertise in veterinary medications and regulations.

As chair of the practice, Gallagher will focus on providing services to clients throughout all stages of product development, whether securing funding, developing and implementing IP and regulatory strategies, and bringing products to market.

Gallagher said: “I am honoured to have been appointed chair of the practice group and look forward to working with my esteemed colleagues to continue serving our clients in the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries and assisting them in gaining a competitive advantage in the marketplace as they bring their products to fruition.”

Norwood Jameson, chair of the IP practice at Duane Morris, said: “Patrick’s extensive scientific background coupled with his deep legal knowledge in IP and regulatory law make him the ideal candidate to lead the firm’s pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical litigation and regulatory practice group.”
