Fieldfisher launches second office in China

Law firm Fieldfisher has expanded its presence in China with the launch of a Shanghai office.

The new office will be led by corporate partner Liang Xing, who is joined by partner Rocky Wu, a dual-qualified lawyer and patent agent.

Xing specialises in antitrust and competition, focused primarily on the life sciences, technology, and hotels and leisure sectors. He joins from law firm Mylink Law Office, where he was a partner.

Wu focuses his practice on patent applications and litigation. He previously served as a partner at Chinese law firm Jincheng Tongda & Neal.

Fieldfisher China partners Baoen Bai and Ming Zhang, and associate Jie Kong, have relocated to the new office from Beijing.

Zhaofeng Zhou, Fieldfisher’s managing partner in China, said: “This move is a further sign of our continuing growth as a firm and will, I hope, propel us on to further success. Growth is an important part of our plan in China and we expect a further four partners to join the Shanghai office by June.”

This is the second Fieldfisher office in China, following the launch of the Beijing office in November 2016.
