Latham recruits two from Hogan Lovells

Latham & Watkins has added two life sciences-focused litigators, Arlene Chow and Ernest Yakob, to its New York office.

Chow and Yakob will serve as partners in the firm’s litigation and trial department and IP litigation practice.

Both join from  Hogan Lovells. Chow has argued before US federal district courts, the US Patent Trial and Appeal Board, and the US Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit.

Yakob, meanwhile, specialises as a technical strategist, working with in-house counsel and scientists on complex competitor cases.

"Arlene and Ernest are skilled trial lawyers and sophisticated strategists at the helm of some of the most notable patent matters in the life sciences space,”  said David Callahan, chair of the Latham’s IP litigation practice.

“Their addition will further fortify Latham's ability to be a one-stop-shop for brand-side pharma and biotech clients,” added healthcare and life sciences industry group co-chair Mike Morrin.
