Latham & Watkins boosts team with life sciences litigator

A life sciences litigator from Williams & Connolly has joined Latham & Watkins’ Washington, DC office.

Adam Perlman joins Latham & Watkins as a partner in the firm’s litigation and trial department and IP litigation practice.

Perlman is a first-chair patent trial lawyer who focuses on Hatch-Waxman trials and US Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit appeals for brand-name pharmaceutical manufacturers.

David Callahan, global chair of Latham & Watkins’ IP litigation practice, said: “Adam is a fantastic addition to the IP litigation practice who is known for successfully representing some of the world’s leading drug innovators in complex Abbreviated New Drug Application litigation.”

Perlman focuses his practice on a wide range of technologies, including pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, and medical devices, as well as computers and financial services. He has significant experience litigating life science inter partes review proceedings before the US Patent and Trademark Office.

“I’m delighted to be joining Latham, a global firm with cohesive IP capabilities, a collaborative approach, and an emphasis on trial readiness,” said Perlman. “I’ve been impressed by the group’s steady growth into the powerhouse that it is today, and I look forward to contributing to its further success.”
