Mewburn expands UK IP team

Mewburn Ellis has appointed a new life sciences-focused partner as part of a number of promotions in its IP team.

Adam Gregory, of the firm’s life sciences patent team, joins the firm’s partnership, which now stands at 44.

Gregory, based in Bristol, focuses his practice primarily on therapeutics, antibody technology, diagnostics, and regenerative medicine, and represents clients in the EU, US, and Singapore.

The firm has also named three new patent directors, including  June LyonsSusie Harrison and  Rachel Jones.

Ed Harrison will serve as trademark director.

According to Mewburn, the positions of patent and trademark directors are positioned equally to partners, and were introduced last year to attract talent in a non-equity capacity.

Managing partner  Richard Clegg said: “These appointments send a very strong message to the market around this firm’s clear and continued growth trajectory and ability to attract and develop the leading talent in European IP.”

“We have ambitious plans for further growth over the coming 18 months across all our key service offerings, not least in our European trademark practice and Munich office,” Clegg added.
