Michael Best opens new office and appoints senior counsel

Law firm Michael Best has opened a new office in Raleigh, North Carolina, where the chair of its life sciences industry group Lisa Mueller will serve as office managing partner.

New attorney hires at the office include partner Jeff Childers and senior counsel James Lawrence.

David Krutz, managing partner of Michael Best, said: “We’re thrilled to launch our Raleigh office and confident in Lisa’s ability to lead this initiative for the firm.”

Besides the firm’s expansion in Raleigh, it has also appointed William Carroll to its Chicago office as senior counsel in the intellectual property group.

Carroll has more than 20 years’ experience as a pharmaceutical researcher for a healthcare company.

His practice focuses on US and foreign patent prosecution matters, patent drafting, and global patent portfolio management.
