O’Melveny recruits IP litigator for New York office

O’Melveny has hired life sciences patent litigator Gregory Morris for its New York office as a partner in its IP and technology practice group.

Morris comes to O’Melveny from Honigman’s Chicago office, where he launched, led, and grew that firm’s life science IP litigation practice.

Morris, who holds a PhD in organic chemistry, has extensive experience handling complex pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and medical technology patent litigation.

He has represented clients in Hatch-Waxman and biosimilars cases, as well as in inter partes review proceedings before the US Patent and Trademark Office.

“With his impressive skill set and deep experience in the pharmaceutical and medical technology sectors, Morris is a perfect fit for our award-winning IP and technology team. It is a pleasure to welcome him aboard,” said O’Melveny chair Bradley Butwin.

“O’Melveny is a litigation powerhouse and a leader in IP matters. I am thrilled to join the firm’s New York office and excited to work alongside such a talented group of litigators,” Morris said.
