Phelps Dunbar hires life sciences counsel

US-based law firm Phelps Dunbar has appointed Fenita Morris-Shepard as a counsel in its life sciences practice.

She previously worked as an in-house attorney for LabCorp, a healthcare diagnostics and contract research organisation based in North Carolina.

“Fenita’s experience as in-house counsel will be invaluable to the firm,” said Kevin O’Brien, managing partner of Phelps’s Raleigh office.

“Having spent a significant portion of her career in-house at various Fortune 500 companies, Fenita has a well-developed sense for providing operationally valuable legal services and deliverables, and managing litigation efficiently.

“She is also a dynamic litigator with unique, broad-based experience in the healthcare industry.”
