Abbott unit defends European protection for heart valve ‘cuff’ design

An EPO appeals board has denied Boston Scientific’s bid to revoke St Jude Medical’s transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR) patent, but declined to hand a complete victory to the patent owner.
