Dechert adds life sciences partner from Hughes Hubbard & Reed
After spending four years at Hughes Hubbard & Reed, Stephen Rabinowitz has joined Dechert’s New York office as a partner.
Rabinowitz’s practice focuses on patent litigation, including Hatch-Waxman proceedings, in the life sciences and pharmaceutical realm. He has experience in dealing with cases concerning DNA technology, medical diagnostics, dietary supplements, and proteins.
At Dechert, Rabinowitz will represent clients in defensive and enforcement IP litigation. He will also assist them with protecting and monetising their IP portfolios, and managing global licensing campaigns.
Before practising law, Rabinowitz was a pathology resident at the Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Harvard Medical School. He also has a doctor of philosophy in immunology.
Jeffrey Pules, chair of the firm’s IP practice group, said: “Stephen’s wide-ranging expertise combined with his unique medical experience will bring a new perspective to the team as we continue to navigate sophisticated IP issues for life sciences companies.”
