Having worked at Kaiser Permanente for more than 33 years, he has managed all major aspects of the organisation, including working as hospital administrator and division president, as well as chief operating officer.
As CEO, Tyson helps drive the organisation’s focus on delivering affordable, accessible, and high-quality healthcare to its members. Claiming to offer one of the US’s largest not-for-profit health plans, the integrated healthcare provider now serves 12 million members in eight states, as well as Washington, DC.
Tyson oversees 200,000 employees and 22,600 Permanente Medical Group physicians, all committed to providing technologically advanced care solutions.
The business is made up of Kaiser Foundation Hospitals and its subsidiaries, Kaiser Foundation Health Plan and the Permanente Medical Groups.
