Womble adds McCarter patent attorney in Boston

Womble Bond Dickinson has strengthened its Boston-based life sciences team with the addition of patent attorney Briana Erickson.

Erickson, who was previously an associate at McCarter & English, advises biotechnology and pharmaceutical companies on patent strategy, patent procurement, and portfolio management.

She has handled US and foreign patent prosecution, and has expertise in providing patentability, validity, and infringement opinions.

Erickson’s clients come from fields including immunology, oncology, therapeutic antibodies, gene editing, molecular diagnostics, RNA interference, medical devices, and drug discovery.

Cristin Cowles, partner in Womble’s Boston office, said: “Briana is highly respected by her peers and clients for both her patent skills and scientific knowledge. I’ve known Briana for years and very much look forward to working with her again. We are thrilled that she is joining the team in Womble’s Boston office.”
