Finnegan partner joins Quinn Emanuel in Tokyo
York Faulkner, an IP partner from Finnegan, Henderson, Farabow, Garrett & Dunner, has joined Quinn Emanuel Urquhart & Sullivan in Tokyo.
Faulkner has more than 25 years of experience in high-stakes litigation, during which he has represented a number of branded companies in Hatch-Waxman infringement cases. He has litigated in federal and state courts, as well as at the International Trade Commission.
Though he is based in Tokyo, Faulkner has a global IP practice. With extensive expertise in life sciences and pharmaceutical matters, he has represented clients in trade secret and patent infringement actions involving medical devices and well-known drugs, such as Prozac (fluoxetine).
Faulkner began his career as a federal prosecutor at the US Department of Justice’s tax division.
He said: “Japanese companies are investing heavily in the US and Europe, and no firm is better equipped than Quinn Emanuel to help those companies overcome the numerous legal challenges they face abroad.”
Ryan Goldstein, managing partner of the firm’s Tokyo office, said Faulkner’s practice “fits perfectly” with the work the firm is doing in Japan.
