Foley & Lardner hires partner in Tokyo
Law firm Foley & Lardner has expanded its intellectual property department and its chemical, biotechnology and pharmaceutical practice by hiring Philippe Riesen as a partner.
Riesen joins from law firm Hogan Lovells, and has experience in patent prosecution, licensing strategy, dispute resolution and post-grant reviews before the US Patent and Trademark Office.
He has represented clients in the pharmaceutical and medical devices industries, and is based in the firm’s Tokyo office.
Michele Simkin, chair of the firm’s IP department, said: “Philippe’s arrival expands our global patent bench in patent litigation and prosecution. Having his boots-on-the ground presence as an experienced litigator and registered US patent attorney based in Tokyo will be an invaluable resource to our Japanese clients.”
