Alain Fuchs is president of the French National Center for Scientific Research (CNRS), the largest government research organisation in France.

After being appointed in 2010, Fuchs strengthened links between the CNRS and French universities.

According to the “World Intellectual Property Indicators 2016” report, published last year, the CNRS is a leading filer of pharmaceutical patents among universities and public research organisations.
