Formerly an associate at White & Case, Roy Waldron is now the chief IP counsel, senior vice president and associate general counsel at Pfizer, one of the world’s largest pharmaceutical research and development companies.

The company invests a lot of time focusing on oncology, vaccines, inflammation and immunology, rare diseases, metabolic diseases and biosimilars.

Waldron’s position at the business is to head the team that procures and protects Pfizer’s patents and trademarks throughout the world. He works closely with Pfizer Worldwide Research and Development, the Pfizer business units and their business development groups.

He also represents Pfizer on committees of various industry organisations including IFPMA (chair, international IP and trade committee), PhRMA (international IP & policy working group), the Intellectual Property Owners Association (board of directors, amicus committee) and INERPAT (president, executive committee).
