Brinks Gilson & Lione adds to biopharma practice group

US-based law firm Brinks Gilson & Lione has expanded its biopharma practice group in Salt Lake City, Utah, by adding Kenton Walker to the team.

Walker is a registered patent attorney with more than 15 years of experience under his belt litigating trademark and commercial disputes. His practice focuses on the pharmaceutical and biotech industries, which sees him advising companies in the medical device, nutritional supplement, apparel and software industries.

“Kent is a respected IP litigator who brings a wealth of clinical and business acumen to our firm,” commented Ryan Marshall, managing shareholder of Brinks’s Salt Lake City office.

“His ability to translate complex IP challenges into successful outcomes and solutions is one of the reasons we’re excited to have him on board.”

Before entering the law industry, Walker spent almost ten years in the pharmaceutical industry as a clinical pharmacist, formulation chemist, and pharmaceutical programme director. Other experience includes serving as vice president of global IP strategy at Mylan.

“With his experience in the pharma and biotech industries, Kent brings a wealth of technical and legal knowledge to the firm,” added Jennifer Fox, co-chair of Brink’s biopharma practice group.

“His reputation and work with some of the largest pharmaceutical companies in the world will provide significant depth to the services we provide our clients.”
