Enzo Life Sciences, a distributor of life sciences products, has filed a complaint against diagnostics supplier Hologic for allegedly infringing a patent centring on several technologies.
In the case, filed on Monday, October 3, in the US District Court for the District of Delaware, Enzo stated that Hologic had infringed US patent number 6,221,581 through three products.
They are Progensa PCA3, an in vitro test that detects prostate cancer, Aptima, an approach for screening cervical cancer, and Procleix, a blood-screening test.
Enzo claims that each of the products uses technology covered by the ‘581 patent, which was issued in 2001.
Hologic has allegedly been aware of the ‘581 patent since June 2005.
Enzo is requesting that the court award it damages caused by the alleged infringement.
