MRC Technology hires former AstraZeneca director

UK-based life sciences research charity MRC Technology has hired Andrew Farquharson as its director of technology transfer.

Farquharson (pictured left) has previously worked as senior patent director and director of external intellectual property affairs at pharmaceutical company AstraZeneca.

He most recently ran his own consultancy.

He has experience in advising clients on a range of IP issues.

Dave Tapolczay, MRC's chief executive, said: “Andrew’s extensive experience will support our charity’s work to ensure innovative life science research reaches its full potential.”

The appointment will be effective from September 1.
