Pierce Bainbridge adds two partners to NY office

Los Angeles-based law firm Pierce Bainbridge Beck Price & Hecht has hired two partners to its New York office.

Brian Slater is a trial lawyer with more than 25 years of IP experience, and will chair Pierce Bainbridge’s life sciences practice. He has served as lead counsel in high-value patent litigations involving biologics, diagnostics and pharmaceuticals. He has also defended several major branded drug products in Hatch-Waxman Act litigation.

The second hire, Gregory Sephton, has extensive experience litigating biologics, diagnostics, medical devices and pharmaceuticals. He also advises on strategic IP counselling and due diligence transactions.

Both Slater and Sephton join the firm from New York-based Kramer Levin Naftalis & Franke, where Slater served as chair of the life sciences practice.

“We are thrilled that Brian and Greg have chosen Pierce Bainbridge as their new home,” said Pierce Bainbridge’s managing partner John Pierce.

Slater said that him and Sephton are excited to join forces with Pierce Bainbridge, “which offers a very attractive platform with exceptional talent and a lean and dynamic approach that will benefit our clients”.

Sephton added: "The firm is well known for its efficiency in handling complex litigation; they have invested in new technology and have an impressive, collaborative team, all of which we will be able to leverage for our clients."
