President and managing partner of Moore & Hansen join Dykema

Dykema has strengthened its Minneapolis, Minnesota office with the addition of two lawyers from Moore & Hansen as senior counsel.

Robert Freed previously served as president of Moore & Hansen, while Conrad Hansen was a managing partner at the firm.

Of their appointments, Freed said: “We are excited to join Dykema and add to the firm’s already strong and dynamic capabilities in the IP sector. Dykema is driven to serve and deliver for its clients, and we look forward to being part of that culture.”

Over the past 30 years, Freed has developed a broad IP practice which includes all aspects of patent, trademark, and copyright law. He specialises in food sciences and biochemistry, although he also has experience in innovative medical and mechanical devices.

Hansen has experience of conducting trademark and patent prosecutions at the US Patent and Trademark Office. His clients include individuals, startups, and mid-sized businesses, and he has experience in dealing with non-traditional trademarks.

Both Freed and Hansen counsel clients on portfolio management, licensing matters, and strategic IP planning.

Reed Heimbecher, leader of Dykema’s IP transactional practice group, said: “We are thrilled that Robert and Conrad have decided to join Dykema. Adding these accomplished IP attorneys to our ranks deepens our firmwide bench and enriches our ability to provide IP counsel to all of our clients.”
