Video interview: Regeneron on challenges in the life sciences IP arena
There are two major challenges facing the life sciences IP arena, according to Larry Coury, senior director of dispute resolution at Regeneron.
Coury, who was speaking on a panel at Life Sciences Patent Network North America, hosted by LSPR in Boston in June, discussed what he considers to be the main challenges in the sector and how to overcome them.
First, science is far ahead of law, meaning that lawyers have to make decisions without guidance from the courts or Congress.
Second, he added, the international patent law situation is constantly in flux.
In order to address these problems, he believes that it’s vital to establish relationships with lawyers and business partners in different countries to ensure that everyone is kept informed.
