WilmerHale elevates two IP lawyers to partner

WilmerHale has promoted Heather Petruzzi and Andrew Danford to partner.

Petruzzi, who is based in the firm’s Washington, DC office, focuses her practice on complex IP matters for life sciences and medical device clients.

She has represented clients before the US Patent and Trademark Office in inter partes reviews and ex parte reexaminations, and before district courts and the US Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit.

Petruzzi also prosecutes patent portfolios for start-up and large companies.

Danford is based in WilmerHale’s Boston office, in the litigation and controversy practice. He focuses his practice on IP disputes at the trial and appellate levels.

He has represented clients in patent disputes across a range of technological fields, including pharmaceuticals, medical devices, smartphones and internet technologies.

Danford also has experience involving design patents, trade dress and trade secrets.

The appointments are effective January 1, 2018.
