Unified Patent Court Part 2 An Interview with Rob Aerts

The Unified Patent Court (UPC) is set to open in 2022 and has the potential to significantly change how patents are applied for and protected in Europe. The Bundesrat has approved the Protocol on Provisional Application of the UPC Agreement, taking us another step closer.  The Protocol on Provisional Application is not yet in force, it needs to be ratified by one further EU state which now looks set to be Austria.

In the second part of our series on the UPC join us as we hear Rob Aerts’ insights on the topic.

Aerts is a senior patent counsel at ADM with over 20 years of experience in patents in Europe. Tune in to hear him answering questions about how the UPC will be implemented and what impact that may have on European patents.
