Squire Patton Boggs names new deputy of IP and technology practice group

Squire Patton Boggs has appointed Janice Rice to deputy practice group leader of its IP and technology practice, where she will lead the life and health sciences team.

She will succeed Cameron Kerrigan, who will continue to work as a partner in the firm’s Palo Alto and San Francisco offices.

Rice, who joined the firm in 2015 as a senior associate, has served as in-house counsel at a number of small to mid-sized pharmaceutical companies such as Exelixis.

She is experienced in developing international patent strategies, drafting and prosecution, and the protection of trade secrets.

David Elkins, global chair of the IP and technology practice, said the firm is confident that Rice will successfully continue Kerrigan’s work.

“She has excelled in her practice, business development and acumen, and has the skills necessary to excel as deputy practice group leader,” Elkins said.
